The two-adult rule

Two adults in every room, every Sunday.

Many child-safety policies ask for at least two screened adults with children at all times. It's easy to write down and hard to keep when someone calls in sick. Arkrooms keeps it in the schedule, the subs and the Sunday morning itself.

How Arkrooms keeps it

A room with too few adults can't be approved, and can't happen by accident.

Two adults per room by default
Or each age group's own minimum, for a nursery that needs three, say.
Only adults count
Teens can help as extras, but they're never counted toward the two adults.
Screened adults, if you require it
Current training and a passed background check can be rules too, so the two adults are ones your policy allows.
Subs that keep it
When someone can't make it, only people who can take that room without breaking the rule are asked.
A warning when a room is short
During services, leaders and admins get an email and a banner when a room has more kids than its adults cover. See Check-Ins ratio alerts.
A leader's schedule for a block: every room filled for each service, with every check passing

Questions

What is the two-adult rule?

A child-safety practice many churches, insurers and denominations ask for: at least two screened adults with children at all times, so no adult is ever alone with a child. Your own policy has the exact wording; Arkrooms keeps whichever minimum you set.

Can married couples be the two adults?

Some policies ask for two unrelated adults. Arkrooms puts couples in the same room only if you turn that on, and a rule of your own can keep two people from serving together, as a must.

Do teen helpers count?

Not toward the adults. Teens can serve as extras, and only with a parent at the same service if you like.

What if a room is short on the morning itself?

A last-minute call-out alerts the leaders and asks every team at once, and the room alert shows when the kids checked in outnumber what the adults cover.
