A background check and training tracker for church volunteers.
One spreadsheet: every volunteer, when their background check and child safety training run out, and who's due soon. It works in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers.
What's in it
- Tracker
- One row per volunteer: name, role, team or room, the date of their last background check and of their last training. The expiry dates and a status for each (current, due soon, expired or missing) fill themselves in, colored amber and red, and you can sort and filter by any column.
- Settings
- How long a background check and a training last, and how early "due soon" starts. They start at 36 months, 24 months and 60 days, which is common practice, not a requirement: set them to your church's policy.
- Renewal letter
- A short message to send someone whose check or training is running out, with the blanks to fill in.
A record-keeping aid, not a compliance guarantee or legal advice. Your church's policy, your insurer and any state rules that apply decide what you need. No background check or training provider is endorsed.
